Smash Remix is a mod of Super Smash Bros. for the N64, that adds new characters, stages, modes and more.
This page is dedicated to the stages I created and contributed to for the mod.
Click the arrows to cycle through images, and if your browser window is wide enough there's navigation on the left too.
To do: Add bonus stages and more, add missing credits

"Dream Land" and "Ω" variants of Peach's Castle, Congo Jungle, Hyrule Castle, Planet Zebes, Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi's Island, Dream Land, Sector Z, Saffron City, Meta Crystal, Duel Zone and Final Destination. Hazards remain intact but are optional. Source: Super Smash Bros. (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) |

Peach's Castle Beta: A recreation of the stage as seen in prerelease screenshots. Source: Super Smash Bros. LMAO Castle: A homage to the very first stage edit for Smash 64! Source: Super Smash Bros. Credits: Nokaubure (concept) |

Mushroom Kingdom SR: A port of the Mushroom Kingdom stage from Melee. Animations were faithfully carried over. While brick blocks cannot be broken, POW Blocks are instead in place here. Source: Super Mario Bros. (Super Smash Bros. Melee) World 1-1: The first stage I worked on that sought to push boundaries. It's the entirety of World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros.! Source: Super Mario Bros. (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) |

Corneria, the resized Sector Z. Here you can stand on the cannons (when it's safe to!) It's on the stage select screen as a Sector Z variant. Source: Star Fox 64 (Super Smash Bros. Melee) Credits: ??? (custom surface, laser hazard) |
A Final Destination variant which is Final Destination... with the tent from Hyrule Castle just there in the middle... Source: Super Smash Bros. Credits: ??? (concept) |
Recreations of the stages seen in the Dragon King prototype! Before footage was revealed on Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games, this stage was a lot less accurate. Source: Dragon King: The Fighting Game |
If you ever wanted to have battles take place in the big field where Mario and Kirby face off in the game's intro, this stage is for you. A variant of First Destination on the stage select screen. Source: Super Smash Bros. |
The iconic mountain from Banjo-Kazooie. Instead of the entire stage rotating, the platforms simply move up and down. Source: Banjo-Kazooie (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) Credits: Retro64 (assistance) |
Similar to "Dream Land" from Smash 3DS, but featuring other games instead, giving 2D graphics a subtle 3D effect. Its variant is Muda Kingdom, which was made prior. Source: Super Mario Land, Kirby's Dream Land, Pokémon Red and Blue, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS) Credits: snooplax (earlier version), ??? (music/sound coding, camera coding) |
A simplified port of Mute City from Smash 3DS. Don't get knocked up by the road! Includes a DL variant based on an older version. Source: F-Zero (Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS) Credits: likiji123 (earlier version), ??? (start sounds, custom surface) |
A slightly modern stage for the time, albeit with 64DD roots. The very first stage I ported to Smash 64! (no microgames though) Source: WarioWare Inc. (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) |
This stage is hot! But competitive friendly. So competitive that the announcer from Pokémon Stadium has to commentate! Source: Pokémon Stadium Credits: The_Smashfather (coding), heronnobody (assistance) |
These stages are identical in layout, but differ in appearance. No stage transformations, as many would prefer too. And the announcer is also here! Source: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl Credits: The_Smashfather (coding) |
You're at the peak of Koholint Island! It's pretty cloudy... but you can change that. The variant removes the walls, making it similar to what this stage once was. Source: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening |
This red and black stage is based on one of the Virtual Boy's best games. Because of its relation it is shaped similarly to Ultimate's "Mementos" stage, which is available as a variant if you want something extremely out of place on the N64. Source: Jack Bros., Super Smash Bros. Ultimate |
Another post-N64 era stage, not too far away though. The platforms here often move out, so try to keep in the center. Source: Super Mario Sunshine (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) Credits: snooplax (earlier version) |
My second ambitious stage, and one of my favourites. There's no elevation changes or jumps in the track, but it can still get quite chaotic here. Source: F-Zero X (Super Smash Bros. Melee) Credits: ??? (start sounds, custom surfaces) |
It's not truly a Smash game if it doesn't have this stage. It's one of my earlier ones so it does look a little rough... Source: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Super Smash Bros. Melee) Credits: Cap full of Whimsy (assistance) |
Ports of the Flat Zone stages from Melee and Brawl. Not much room to fight in the first one... Source: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl Credits: Shino (sounds), ??? (camera coding) |
This is one of my favourite stages to fight on. Unlike in Melee, Fly Guys do not get in the way, but Randall still can! Source: Yoshi's Story (Super Smash Bros. Melee) |
The version of Corneria that's looking back at you. The Arwings still face the left however. Source: Star Fox 64 (Super Smash Bros. Melee) Credits: ??? (camera coding) |
This is another favourite stage of mine, based on the Spring theme. The Smash 64 engine doesn't allow for tilting platforms sadly... Source: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) |
This is Mushroom Kingdom II ported from Melee, but we named it correctly here. Source: Super Mario Bros. 2 (Super Smash Bros. Melee) Credits: kathy (coding) |
Travel to five different spots on Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road, inspired by the Smash 3DS stage! The "chain" chomp may show up to intefere with the battle too. Source: Mario Kart 64 Credits: ??? (sounds, chomp hazard) |
Inspired by the Public Transit stage from Slap City, where fighters must stay atop of vehicles and avoid hitting the road. If Lakitu hovers in the middle of the stage, they can easily swoop you away for a Star KO... Source: Mario Kart 64 Credits: halofactory (coding) |
Another stage ported from Melee and renamed to avoid conflicts. The graphics are more similar to its game of origin, but given a different palette like the Mushroom Kingdom stage. Source: Super Mario World (Super Smash Bros. Melee) |
This is the most ambitious Smash 64 stage ever, and it wouldn't have been possible without a lot of teamwork. I remember doubting if it could be done after planning it. So it's the hub area known as Time Twister from Crash 3, but it can completely transform into other stages. N. Sanity Beach has some standard platforms, Snow Go has these long slippery platforms, and Future Frenzy utilises conveyor belts! And you can fight on each of them individually if you choose to. Source: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Crash Bandicoot: Warped Credits: Sam the Salmon (N. Sanity Beach, Snow Go), TheQuickSlash (N. Sanity Beach background), sope (warp model, background assistance), MarioReincarnate (coding) |
